Vastari is an online platform to help private collectors of art and antiques to connect with museum curators for exhibition loans. Museums need exhibitions: Museums plan thousands of exhibitions a year, and need content. These shows are the big revenue-earners for public institutions beyond public and private sponsorship, and as governments cut back on funding, more shows are needed for museum to survive. Collectors want to lend: Collectors are proud to show their works to the public at a revered institution. Lending works of art to museums helps collectors validate the value of their possessions, and also place it into context with other works in public collections. Currently, the entire networking process for museum exhibition planning and research is offline, or via third parties with a commercial interest. Vastari is a secure, anonymous and global network that helps the process be much more efficient.
