We aim to help young companies get started and grow. We believe that the best way for people to succeed at business is by joining a community of people who are willing to share what they know and help each other to succeed. We've started by opening shared workspaces to create a physical presence and build the community. This seems to be working - we recently hit 100 members. We aspire to move beyond providing infrastructure into the human-side of the problem - how to make it so that the community only has to solve problems once and share best practice with each other. Clearly, a part of that is about funding, and we want to be at the centre of that economic activity. Shoreditch Works also is solving the problem that when you start a business, you have to run that business - most people start a business because they are excited about developing a product. We want people to be able to "plug in" to a variety of professional services as their business grows, to keep hassle to a minimum.
