ShareLaTeX is an online LaTeX editor used by tens of thousands of academics and students around the world to collaborate. Most people use word processors such as Microsoft Word to write their documents, however many scientific academics use a well established typesetting language called LaTeX. ShareLaTeX has taken LaTeX and put it into the browser, just as Google did with the word processor when they created Google Docs. ShareLaTeX solves 2 main pain points, firstly it makes getting started with LaTeX very simple, secondly it allows easy collaboration with real time collaborative editing just like google documents. ShareLaTeX uses a fremium model with premium plans offered on a reoccurring monthly subscription.
