HearToday - A Better Tomorrow
Tech to help hearing impaired children get better access to education
About
There are 560m people in less economically developed countries blighted by untreated hearing loss. Hearing loss has many debilitating social and psychological consequences, but perhaps the most profound impact is missing out on education, not learning to read and write which blights the rest of their lives. HearToday provide shared low cost Hearing Aids for use in class rooms to improve literacy amongst this vulnerable group and help them change their lives for ever - when you can't hear well, literacy is even more critical. The HearToday device works without the need for scarce medically trained professionals. It can be used to test the school children's hearing and also to help any child found with hearing loss to understand the teacher during lessons. This offers the greatest impact - literacy, at minimum cost.
