Cura is an augmented curation platform for Twitter. The Cura system surfaces real-time links with the latest stories on a particular topic. It is inspired by the idea that a knowledgeable curator, assisted by technology, can surface superior and deeper real time content on specific topics than manual or automated only solutions. The curator curates their subject experts - say a group of economists. Our experts continue using Twitter as they always do. Cura then creates a dynamic ranking of the most popular links shared by the group of experts for a given topic right now. How is it different? User-generated news sites like Reddit, Digg, Slashdot often don't include active contributions from some of the most influential experts - say, a Paul Krugman type person. Yet Krugman does share stories on Twitter. These user generated sites also often have a bias against certain kinds of content - say feminist stories.
